Jess Stone: Track Love & Long Socks
10 Jun
Rab fires another 20 questions at British rider Jess Stone…
STW: How are you finding the track and the changes for the World Cup?
JS: I’ve ridden this course for the last four years and the new changes have made it a lot smoother. They’ve added some newer additions too, with some pretty sizeable jumps! They’re pretty challenging and the rest of the track is absolutely phenomenal! Such a great track. Fast and loose, technical and long. It’s great.
STW: How has your bike set up changed from last week?
JS: I changed the tyres: last week was a Schwalbe Muddy Mary for more grip; this weekend I need something better rolling so I’ve gone for a Big Betty. Suspension has stayed really similar, just some small changes.
STW: Porridge or Haggis?
JS: Porridge! I hate haggis! Porridge by a long shot.
STW: Sock length and style tips?
JS: I like long socks, I like colour too. I’ve not really got a sock style though…
STW: Do you miss skinsuits?
JS: I never had a skinsuit! Fortunately I came into the sport once they were banned. I remember seeing a few pictures and it looks horrendous.
STW: Twitter or Facebook?
JS: I like Twitter.
STW: Neck brace or gloves?
JS: Gloves.
STW: Who’s going to win?
JS: Rachel has a real crack at it. She might have it in the bag.
